Audiology Equipment We Love in 2019

02/19/19

e3 Diagnostics represents over 160 products from leading manufacturers of audiology equipment. That allows us to suggest the right hearing and balance screening equipment that will help you, as a hearing healthcare professional, better treat your patients.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we’ve put together a short list of the audiological instruments we love this year. Here is a summary of products that can help meet your unique hearing care needs in 2019.

corti

The Grason-Stadler Corti is a portable, battery-operated diagnostic and screening instrument that measures Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) in infants, children, and adults. The Corti allows you to easily adjust protocols and accurately test each ear in as little as eight seconds. Its patented Noise Artifact Rejection Algorithm assesses the response in variable background noise, which improves the accuracy of test results and saves you valuable test time in noisy environments.

titan

Another device we’re excited about this year is the Interacoustics Titan. Slim and sleek, this handheld product is a modular platform that is customizable to your needs. As a “one-size-fits-all” device, the Titan offers AEP, OAE, Impedance, and WBT testing on one dedicated platform. A high-resolution color display, the flexibility to use as a handheld device or in PC mode, and ease of use make the Interacoustics Titan a smart, future-safe choice for your OAE and ABR needs.

racecar

For middle-ear testing on children, the MAICO MI 26 TouchTymp Racecar makes the patient experience fun. It also features air conduction audiometry and offers bone conduction as an optional add on. It grabs the child’s attention with a colorful race car animation, distracting them during audiometric and tympanometric screening. The optional high-frequency probe tone of 1 kHz is perfect for providing reliable results when testing newborns. All results are PC-transferable, and the small footprint of the MAICO MI 26 RaceCar makes for easy placement when you have limited desk space.

tinnometer-1

The MedRx Tinnometer introduces a revolutionary approach to tinnitus assessment. It enables you to confidently track your patients’ tinnitus with NOAH™ sessions and customize reports that adhere to Medicare requirements. The MedRX Tinnometer also has air threshold capabilities for additional versatility. Testing up to 10kHz takes less than 10 minutes. Most importantly, it opens the door to convenient, recurring revenue through yearly tinnitus assessments. It is available as a standalone device or as a software add on to your current MedRx audiometer.

vf2

The gold standard in hearing aid verification, the Audioscan Verifit2 is more powerful, efficient, and accurate than any comparable product on the market. Leveraging Audioscan’s patented Speechmap® technology, the Verifit2 produces simulated speech signals to create a map of the amplified speech region within the residual auditory are, allowing hearing aids to be more accurately fit as a result. The new VerifitLINK™ feature quickly and accurately automates the fitting process by automatically verifying and adjusting patients’ hearing aid fittings to the latest NAL and DSL targets. Best of all, all Verifit2 software updates are free, ensuring that your device is always up to date on the latest changes.

ra660

For occupational hearing health assessments, we love the Tremetrics RA660. With the ability to test as many as 8 people simultaneously, it’s made to save your hearing conservation program time and money. It features a built-in Bio-Acoustic Simulator that saves space and simplifies the functionality of the system. Also available is an optional, real-time octave band monitor that constantly analyzes the ambient conditions in your environment. This ensures full compliance with both OSHA and ANSI standards. Only one cable is needed to connect it to your sound booth, and when not in use, the included wall mount houses the audiometer, patient response switch, and headset.

ve525

The future of balance assessment is here! The Micromedical VisualEyes 525 is a VNG system available in both monocular and binocular formats. The binocular version provides you with simultaneous subjective observation of eye movements, as well as objective collection and analysis of eye movement waveforms. Test protocols include:

  • Spontaneous Nystagmus
  • Bithermal Caloric
  • Positional
  • Dix-Hallpike
  • Gaze
  • Saccade
  • Smooth Pursuit
  • and Optokinetic

User-friendly features include the ability to display eye images on a large monitor, video playback, a situational room camera, and a touch-enabled user interface so you can intuitively and seamlessly move through a full battery of tests.

s12c

Vision screeners are a cost-effective way to identify visual impairment or any eye condition that could lead to vision loss. The plusOptiX S12C is the vision screener that has captured our hearts in 2019. Photorefraction measurement results are obtained from brightness patterns in the pupil, and three components are necessary for a precise measurement: the light to illuminate the eye, the camera taking the photo, and the algorithm providing measurement results. The plusOptiX S12C utilizes a unique 54 LED flashlight to optimize the brightness patterns on the images taken. It has been recognized for its child-friendly design that uses a smiley face and a warble sound to garner a child’s attention during measurement. The S12C runs on rechargeable AA batteries and has a built-in patient database of up to 100,000 entries.

integrity-v500

With the ability to perform ABR, DPOAE, and TEOAE tests without sedating the patient, the Vivosonic Integrity 500 auditory diagnostic system is a device we love. Here are some of the advanced features that make this instrument so lovable:

  1. SOAP™ Adaptive Processing is a combination of patented and proprietary technologies that adaptively reduce the myogenic and electromagnetic noise in auditory brainstem responses. SOAP facilitates awake ABR measurement and yields superior response detection under non-ideal conditions.
  2. Amplitrode® pre-filters and amplifies the response at the recording site, which helps to minimize the effects of surrounding electrical and magnetic interference. It enables testing to be conducted in harsh environments without the need to adjust gain or be concerned about clipping.
  3. VivoLink™ Wireless Recording Technology is just that. No wires connect the patient to the computer, allowing you to capture an accurate recording up to a distance of 30 feet. Also, babies and toddlers can be held or strolled, and young children can quietly play while testing is in progress.

With its patented Kalman Weighted Filtering, the Integrity V500 generates superior diagnostics results in the most comfortable environment for patients of all ages.

We love all these products, and we’re sure you will too. For more information on any of the audiology equipment listed above, get in touch with your local e3 office. If your heart is already set, request a quote today!
