On Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 3pm EST, Bertec will host a webinar focused on its revolutionary Bertec Vision Trainer (BVT). Titled Shift Happens, this free educational event will walk you through a case study of a patient with hemianopia from a stroke and discuss how BVT is used for visually induced motion sensitivity.

Currently, the webinar is pending approval for 1 hour of continuing education credits for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists in select states, and athletic trainers.

About the Webinar

Hosted by Bridgett Wallace, PT, DPT and Dr. Charlie Shearer, OD, Shift Happens will educate you aboutBVT, a cost-effective and interactive rehab solution. These talented and trained professionals will go over a case study about the usefulness of BVTwith you and hold a live Q&A session so you can have all your questions about thevestibular testing equipment answered.

Visually Induced Dizziness (ViD), also known as Visually Induced Motion Sensitivity (VIMS), is common in children and adults with a history of migraines, concussion, and neurological/vestibular-related disorders. Identifying the cause(s) is often delayed, which further delays effectively managing symptoms and increases the likelihood of dizziness becoming more of a chronic and disabling condition.

Objectives

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Describe indications for use through clinical applications: visuomotor coordination, peripheral-visual field training, reaction time, visual memory, and cognition
  • Recognize how to progress visual scanning tasks based on the size of the visual field, accuracy of finding targets, and visual demands of the background
  • Apply rehab constructs across a variety of patient populations
